25 Things about me

1. I feel as though I have been away so long I have lost touch on how to "appreciate" people. In otherwords, people in general piss me off.
2. I hate smoking but it has become such a habit that sometimes I don't realize that I've bought a new pack until I'm walking out of the store.
3. I enjoy soccer more than football. YAY MANCHESTER UNITED! BOO CHELSEA!
4. I seldom draw anymore. I'll go periods of great inspiration and motivation and it'll be the most creative portion of my life for that year, then there'll be months without me even thinking or bothering trying to draw anything.
5. I miss playing the piano. I was really glad I got to the level of playing I had, and now I regret not having played it in years.
6. I can't sleep at night on most nights. For example, last night: I was asleep by 11pm, which is a huge difference for me. I woke up at 3am, and couldn't sleep again till 6am. On Tu and Th, I typically don't get to sleep till around 3-4am, on M & W, I probably won't sleep, Friday I'm out drinking till odd hours of the night, Saturday I'm out drinking till odd hours of the night, and Sundays, I'm so exhausted that I try and crash around 11-12, but I always wake up too early.
7. Growing up I had a phobia of "land sharks". I used to be afraid of getting off my bed because I always thought some shark that had adapted to living on land was going to eat me.
8. Growing up, my father was the single thing I was afraid of. If I did something wrong, my mother just had to say, "I'm going to tell your father" and I would freak out.
9. I remember reading all the Tom Clancy and W.E.B. Griffin novels that my father had. It's not great literature, but it's something to do and read for awhile. Eventually, both author's characters exude a sort of..."god" complex, and they give birth to characters who begin off as irrelevant, but never seem to go away.
10. Honestly, I feel both literature and cinema need to kill off their main character(s) more often and let the bad guys win every now and then or show the hero failing at his great quest. It speaks more when showing failure and their fall and recovery from failure than it does about triumphing over the impossible.
11. Video games are my vice.
12. I hate my roommate's dog, IO with a fiery passion. The dog is disobedient, is stubborn and persistent, and lacks any sort of discipline. This, I feel, is all due in part between the conflicting upbringing the dog receives: James lets him pretty much get away with almost anything while I don't let him get away with shit.
13. I despise the Media/news industry. I'd rather they give me cold hard, emotionless facts so I can formulate my own opinion, rather than succumbing to the sensationalist drivel that almost every major media outlet is putting out now. I'd rather go to the BBC for news about America than I would CNN/NBC/ABC/FOX.
14. I've noticed that when I'm sober and with my friends we talk about girls and their body parts, video games, and booze; however when I'm drunk we talk about the industrialization of third world countries, the balance of power, the meaning of sovereignty and a state's right(state as in country), etc....
15. My alcohol of choice is Vodka. If I'm home visiting my parents, I'll drink scotch with my father; if I'm out with my friends I'll do shots of bourbon and drink beer; if I'm home drinking it's always vodka or beer.
16. I have absolutely no pride in either my filipino or german heritage. I don't know of any relatives that live there, I don't speak either language, I was never raised in any particular culture, and I feel absolutely no connection to either country. My tattoo's only signify what I'm made of, not who I am.
17. I've been known to say the most hateful and racist things people will hear and I've been the target of some of the most vile remarks when I'm around friends. Why? We all don't care about race and it means nothing to us. I am me solely because of how I act, how I treat my friends, how hard I work, and the way I talk. The fact that I'm Filipino & German is inconsequential and has no rank or meaning in our group. Judge a person based on their character and nothing else.
18. I love cooking. The taste alone is worth the time investment.

20. I don't believe in the aspect of one night stands. Sure, the immediate benefit is "hey, alright, sex!" while the long term benefit is nill. I'd rather go with the harder to manage but higher pay off long term relationships than a series of one night stands.

22. I hate borrowing money from people. To me it's a sign of weakness, or that you're lesser a person. I'm stubborn and stupid for this, I know, but I still despise it.
